Boat Shows
Can you believe that the boat show season is about to start again?
This year we are going to be at the Cannes Yachting Festival, as well as, the Monaco Boat Show ready to answer any of your carbon offsetting questions. We are looking forward to seeing you!
Extreme Weather Events
It is impossible to ignore the extreme weather events we have experienced so far this year – ranging from heatwaves to droughts, to wild fires and tropical cyclones. It is evident that these events are linked to the climate crisis.
Blue Marine Foundation Fundraising
Our Managing Director, Rachel Goult, is rising to the London to Monaco Bike Challenge, an epic event organised each year by the Blue Marine Foundation in the run-up to the Monaco Yacht Show. Rachel is participating in the last day of the ride.
All funds raised for this event will go to the Blue Marine Foundation, who are working towards ensuring at least 30% of the world’s oceans are protected by 2030.
Rachel’s bike ride is the start of Yacht Carbon Offset’s new initiative to support the Blue Marine Foundation. We are now providing our clients with the option to donate to the Blue Marine Foundation alongside each carbon offset, by contributing €1 for each tonne of carbon they offset.
New Carbon Reduction Projects
Yacht Carbon Offset has added two exciting new projects to the portfolio of carbon reduction projects we are currently supporting.
How Carbon Offsetting Works
The charter season may be drawing to a close but that doesn’t mean you’ve missed your chance to offset the carbon footprint of your charter. It only takes 4 steps!
1. Identify the quantity of fuel consumed during the charter
2. We calculate the greenhouse gas emissions of the fuel
3. We allocate carbon savings from carefully selected carbon reduction projects to balance out the emissions from the fuel
4. You receive a personalised certificate for your records stating the quantity of fuel, tonnes of fuel offset and which project was used in your offset
Want to counteract the carbon footprint of your charter? Get started today!
