Solar PV Project, India
This 105 MW solar power project generates electricity from 3 separate solar installations located in the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States of Southern India. The generated electricity is fed directly into the Indian Electricity Grid.
Benefits: Climate & Environment
The project’s emission factor is assessed to be 0.9653 tonnes CO2e per megawatt hour (MWh). Put another way, the operation of this project reduces the country’s dependence on fossil fuel power production facilities, thereby reducing the country’s greenhouse gas emissions by 0.9653 tonnes of greenhouse emissions per MWh of power produced. Since the start of its operations in June 2016 the project’s annual emissions savings are estimated to be 1,118 thousand tonnes CO2e through to the end of 2022. The project’s power production frequently exceeds design expectations due to high quality maintenance and high availability of sunshine days.
The project activity ensures the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions that are real, measurable, and verifiable and plays beneficial role in the mitigation of climate change. Benefits include:
- Reduces the electricity grid’s reliance on fossil fuel-based power generation, helping to strengthen the renewable energy share in the country’s energy mix.
Renewable energy power which contributes to sustainable development of the region.

Project Verification
The carbon credits are verified under the Verified Carbon Standard by the approved third-party auditor, VKU Certification Pvt. Ltd (VKU). VKU has conducted its verification according to the verification criteria for projects and their GHG emission reductions or removals set out in VCS Standard Version 4.3/5/.
