New Project: Ambatolampy Solar Power
Announcing the addition of the Ambatolampy Solar Power project in Madagascar to the carbon reduction projects available to support your carbon offset! The 40 MW Solar Power Project plays a crucial role in bringing power to the population of Madagascar, where only 25% of the population has electricity. Located in the Vakinankaratra Region, the solar photovoltaic (PV) plant harnesses solar energy and feeds the electrical power in to the national grid.
Additional social & economic benefits include improved energy stability, local employment, and the provision of educational and medical infrastructure to local communities.

Project Category Simplification
Over the years we have expanded the type of carbon reduction projects on offer to our clients. To make project selection simple, our projects are arranged into three categories:
- Renewable Power Projects – Our most popular project choice. Renewable Power projects provide a clean, sustainable alternative to fossil fuel-based power production.
- Premium Projects – Typically located in environmentally sensitive areas these projects provide extended social and environmental benefits. For example, the Garo Communities Cookstove Project brings valuable support to the remote, rural communities of the Garo people.
- Coastal Marine Projects – Generally mangrove restoration projects, focused on conserving and regenerating vital marine habitats. Our coastal marine projects currently comprise Kenya’s Mikoko Pamoja and Vanga Blue mangrove projects.
Charity News
Blue Marine Foundation’s Solent Seascape Project
The health of our oceans is a primary concern within the superyacht industry, particularly for our clients. This is why we offer the opportunity to make a charitable contribution alongside your carbon offset.
We have been a loyal supporter of the Blue Marine Foundation (BMF) since the start of our charitable contribution initiative. For the past 4-years, our clients’ generous donations have supported BMF’s Solent Oyster Restoration Project. In 2025 donations are being used to support a wider reaching project, The Solent Seascape Project. This initiative is the first large-scale marine and coastal restoration operation in the UK, aiming to reconnect and restore vital habitats across the Solent to create a thriving, resilient ecosystem.
If you want to start making a voluntary charitable donation to any of the charities we support please let us know when you request your carbon offset. Contributions to these charities are separate from your carbon offset transaction and do not form the basis of your carbon offset.

The Southampton Boat Show will shortly be announcing an increase in it’s commitment to protecting the environment, introducing enhanced sustainability requirements for all exhibitors and inviting participation in the Show’s new Environmental Award.
Exhibitors will be required to comply with the Show’s updated sustainability policies, ranging from waste reduction to energy efficiency. Additionally, all Environmental Award entrants will be participating in the British Marine/Southampton International Boat Show’s new carbon offsetting scheme, which we are delighted to be administering.
“We’re proud to be leading the way in promoting a cleaner, greener future for boating. The new partnership with Yacht Carbon Offset and our 2025 award will help ensure that our industry is part of the solution when it comes to protecting our oceans and waterways.”

UN Ocean Conference 2025
The Mediterranean city of Nice hosted the UN Ocean Conference this month (June 2025) with the goal to ‘conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine sources for sustainable development’. In the words of the UN “the shipping sector has a central role to play in enhancing ocean health, tackling climate change, halting biodiversity loss, strengthening resilience, and advancing global equity”. The superyacht industry shares this responsibility and establishing a carbon offsetting program is an immediate positive response to the UN’s calls for sustainable enjoyment of the oceans.
