Yacht Carbon Offset is proud to be a member of the Superyacht Eco Association Index (SEA Index), an initiative led by the Yacht Club de Monaco to measure the environmental impact of superyachts. We look forward to supporting SEA Index in the development of this tool and to help its supporters take action to lower the environmental impact of the yachting sector in Monaco and globally. In the words of SEA Index, ‘Our shared passion for the ocean and yachting drive us to recognize good practices. It is about responsibility: to enjoy the sea and leave it untouched for future generations, to help drive change for a better world, and to lead by example’.
SEA Index’s goal is to become the global industry standard for measuring environmental ratings. With information about a yacht’s ecological standard easily accessible owners and builders will be able to design and create yachts with a lower environmental impact. Many owners are already adopting a more sustainable approach and wish to understand their impact and support change within the industry.
We at Yacht Carbon Offset have always stressed that the service we provide fits in as one part of a wider picture and SEA Index is dedicated to bringing that wider picture into sharp focus. As SEA Index says, ‘only things that are measured can be improved’.
